Default Hello there, and I have a question

Hey guys.. Was about to do some 'preventative' maintainance on my Galant but figured I'd google for a mitsu forum first.. Guess I found one. Anyways, my tranny on my 03 is starting to act a little strange and seems to be 'slipping' the odd time.. Has about 90000KM on it, and the fluid is a dark brown.. Guess it's time to be changed.. Just wondering the protocol on this car. I just glanced under it, doesn't look like it has a plug, unfortunately, but a vertical facing pan.. Does this seem about right? Filter located in there on this model, (it's a 4banger, auto) or is it a screw on type located elsewhere? Thanks!

Plug is actually on the drivers side on the side of the tranny. Filter I believe on the 2000 model they all went to an internal filter. Honestly if it is a dark cooler I would take it in and flush it because just changing out the fluid won't be much help.

As i am getting ready to change my tranny fluid, my 2000 ES has an external filter, same shape an an oil filter, and an internal filter. The cover over the internal filter is also positioned vertically. i haven't looked for the plug yet.

hmm well maybe it was in 2001 because the new 8G Galant do not have two filters. Here is a picture of the plug on the side of the tranny. Watch out when pulling it because tranny fluid goes everywhere. It flows out and hits that black plastic on the other side and flows everywhere so make sure you have something to catch it.
