Default Just changed brakes and rotors...

And was hoping someone could clarify a couple things:

1) Instead of long caliper slide bolts, there were only about 1 inch long bolts in the slides. Didn't see mention of this anywhere. Needles to say I didn't (re)grease them.

2) There was a thin piece of metal (shim?) in each caliper assembly that was basically loose when I took the assembly off. What is this for? I placed it back against the piston but I'm not confident it stayed there.

Thanks.

Not sure if its what your talking about but I just did my brakes as well and found a thin piece of metal as well. It ended up being a piece of my old brake pad. Both sides had the same thing. Took it into advanced auto and thats where I got the info. My slide pins are short as well but I DID regrease
