Default Mirage with Galant power

Ok on one side we have a 1994 Galant ES 2.4l, automatic tranny. It has like 250,000 miles and still runs kickazz. On the other side is a 1993 Mirage S 1.5l, stick. Tiny car with a big engine bay. We got the engine out from the Galant today. All harnesses and pipes too. What I wanna know is will the tranny from the Mirage fit on the Galant? Or should we find a stick trans that will fit?

First off you need to think about this 1.5l engine compared to a 2.4l engine... Size alone dictates a larger block which means the trans wouldn't mount right if that's what you're considering. ALSO on the other side think about the work and $ required to convert an auto to a stick. First off you'll have to get new mounts for the trans, add the clutch pedal the master and slave cylinders, all associated piping, the shifter linkages, the clutch cable, the hole you'll have to cut in the firewall, possible replacement of BOTH transaxles, the mounting problems with alignment and whatnot. Alot of work will be required and it will have to be faily precise. It's a tough conversion to do to say the least. If this hasn't convinced you to find a standard car and swap engines if you like yours that much then good luck to you. I will try to help best I can but it's a difficult road to go down.
