Default Is My 2012 Galant Dead?

So here's the story. Head gasket was blown. Replaced the head gasket and the timing belt while I was in there. The timing is DEFINITELY correct (I checked about 4 times).

When I went to start it up again it wouldn't fire. Fuel pressure checked out. Spark checked out. I can hear injectors clicking when holding a stick to them.

Compression is not good in the cylinders - max was 70 psi. Most were around 40. Wet or dry, didn't matter.

I think what may have happened was that the engine hydrolocked with all the water in the cylinders and perhaps bent the rods a bit. I've been told that the pistion travel only has to be off 20 thousandths or so and you're cooked.

So, before I scrap it - I just have to know. Am I missing anything silly?
