Parts compatibility query
Galant 1999 1997cc 4g63 16v Automatic
Looking for info on one or other of the queries below.
1. Crank Position Sensor. Is this CPS assy ( I am talking about the part that bolts to engine ie.without wires and plug) used on any other Mitubishi models? See:

2. I intend to replace Crank Position Sensor by unbolting old faulty one, snipping wires near sensor, bolting new one in place and soldering to old wires. The reason for this? In attempt to bypass having to remove timing belts etc. Is this a good plan?
