Default Serpentine Belt Replacement 2004 1/2 and newer

Not sure why I am having so much trouble finding the tensioner or whatever I need to release the serpentine belt. There seems to be no information on the new model of Galant just the old ones. I'm sure it's easy once someone tells me where to look and how to do it.

Thanks

Default Generic

Instructions - Release tension, then remove belt.

I guess I have identified the Gen, A/C, Idle, Crankshaft, Power steering pulley and I guess water pump pulleys. Everytime I search for the tensioner part online for a 2005 and higher I keep getting pictures of tensioners that I dont see on the car. There just seems to be so much old Galant info and pictures out there. Not sure why I am having so much trouble with such a simple task.

Default I think I found it

Is it the lowest, aft pulley, below the power steering pump, accessable only though the right wheel well?

Default Talking to myself again

Way easy and not in the wheel well. 12" 14mm offset 12 pt. Attach to the pulley below and slightly forward of the power steering pump and push down to release the tension. Actually I left the wrench wedged below the power steering pump while I replaced the A/C Compressor and Alt. Made the mistake of over servicing my A/C system, it started to cycle on and off. 2 cans is plenty. I changed out the Alt since the car has 150K and a new one is only $89 with the core return. Glad I went with the 4 cylinder vice the 6, which makes for extra room under the hood.
