Default Tranny Problem

Hey guys, Im a new member here so im gonna need some help. I had a truck which i recently traded for a 97 galant. The galant I have has some little problems though. The car has been sitting for a year, and the tranny is a auto. The car starts fine, but when you put it in gears, it wont move at all. The owner before doesnt know anything about the history of the car. I was wondering if it could be my torque converter or something else. I dont know too much about this subject, so if somebody can maybe tell me what my problem is, I heard it was a common thing on these cars(transmission failure) I would appreciate any help. You can post here or give me a call at (957 0639). I live in Findlay, Ohio. THANKS!

Have you checked the tranmission fluid level?

I'd start there before anything else.
