First off let me appologize if this has been posted...</P>


I have a 97 Galant. What could I do to help my transmission? I found out that Galant trannys are run electrically. A few months ago my transmission was slipping into neutral - so i fixed that problem. Now it seems to be slamming into first gear before picking up. Is this really an electrical issue? Please, someone, get back to me. Thanks.</P>

Try going to the parts store and picking up some Trans- X. This will only prolong the life of it. Sounds like its on it way out anyway. </P>
