Default 2008 Lancer GTS

I posted part of this in the new dude section; Yep just another newbie laying my seed.

I currently own a 02 Jaguar Xtype (activley on jaguarforums.com), but its out of warranty as of dec 2007 and boy of boy the repairs are $$$$. just paid $1500 for a new throttle body.

well in short i am looking to buy a new Lancer GTS fully loaded, cause the price and sun sound tech package and MAINLY the 5year/100,000 mile warranty. (or if not i am going with a certified 07 volvo s40.) i love the mazda3 and the way it drives, but that 3 year warranty steered me to mitsu and glad it did

I am just looking for people's impressions on there car. i am taking a test drive this wednesday. Unfortunatly i will be comparing the lancer to my jaguar, good thing is road noise n the jag is loud for a luxury or even a mid level sedan, i dont have heated seats in the jag and my front suspension is noisey, i dont have remote start or a navi. bad things is that the jag has plush leather seating unlike the cloth lancer, 191 hp at 3400lbs and the lancer 152 at 3100lbs, the jag has loads of wood and leather lancer has plastic and cheaper plastic.

so i guess i am looking for unbiased oppinons.

I bought an 08 GTS for my wife in November. LOVE the car. It's completely loaded, nav, sun, sound, and even the custom factory GTS Heated Leather.

If you can find one like this, they are in the $25,000 range. It definately rides stiff due to the 45's on 18" rims, but it still rides smooth over bumps, and handles great. The tech package and leather package make it feal more like a lux/sports car rather than just a small sedan.

It's yours for $24,000 if you want it......I never get to drive it anyways.

j/k, my wife would shoot me.

Oh, and if it matters, she actually gets 30-32mpg driving highway speeds (55-60) back and forth to work.

My ES 2008 Lancer is great. Never had problems with it
But I prefer the 2009 Ralliart. If it came out first I will buy it.

Because for me I don't have to put a lot ofupgrade and It is between a regular Lancer and the Evo, not too fast not too slow.

I have a 2008 Lancer GTS and LOVE it. I have had it for 1 year. I have never had so many people look at my car or give me compliments on a car. I would love to have the Evolution but it is too expensive. I dont' have the navigation or anything but I have the 5 speed and it is pretty quick. I think it is great car and looks so nice.

For the price and amenities, the Lancer is a good buy. Comparing to your Jag is of course two different platforms. I also have a Lexus ES and use it more for whenever I "pimp" (lol) or just on an easy stroll. I must say I drive my Lancer alot more because of the quickness and the way it feels on the road. I have the 5 speed but I drove the cvt and it engages quicker into higher gears than my Lexus.
