So sometimes after starting my car i can't put the car into gear. I have to take my foot off the clutch then back on before it will let me go into gear. The dealer told me this is normal? Never had this happen on any of my past three manual cars...

Also, has anyone else had problems with there lancer taking 8 or 9 seconds to crank over and start?

 

The clutch thing is normal. Try another gear, then attempt the gear you were wanting again. That usually does it.

As for the hard starting, that is not normal. It is a well known issue with the Lancer. Take it to the dealership.

 

Thanks for the reply. I have taken it to the dealer three times now... they say there has been no tsbs about it and they can't reproduce the issue

 

Simple. Video tape the issue.

 

Apparently the one dealer said it is normal so they wont do anything. The other is going to look at it... a 4th time. Kind of thinking about getting a lawyer now.

They replaced parts this time... but it didn't fix anything.

So.. any suggestions on getting it fixed? or a similar car? It sucks, because I love how the car looks. I definitely wont be buying mitsubishi again...

 

damn...I got a Lancer ES 2011 bro, my car has no problem starting and i can put my car into gear perfect when starting it too..did you get it new?

 

Yeah. Brand new, 5 miles on it. They bought it back though.. so i have a 2011 lancer now. No problems.. so far.
