Default Axle pops out of pass side after seal replacement. Ideas?

09 Lancer ES... I replaced my passenger axle seal after I noticed a bit of fluid in the driveway. The seal looked OK just hard and dried out.

After replacement I wend for a quick test drive. This time it was a pretty steady drip after the drive. Looked underneath and the axle popped out. I double checked everything was installed properly but it keeps happening.

What holds the axle into the trans? I don't see a clip on the trans side of the axle as I've seen in other types (mitsubishi 3000gt for example) Any help would be appreciated!

Default Cir ring on end of axle

Was the cir ring compression ring still on the end of your axle when you put it back in? After a good push, it should lock in place and hold the axle. If not, might need to widen the cir ring a tiny bit
