Default Low CVT Fluid

Hello everyone! I have recently bought a Lancer ES Sport 2017 model with 59k mileage. Yesterday it was parked (it’s summer in Australia now) and when I started the car, a warning popped up in dashboard that “transmission is overheating, slow down”. The car was in steady position that time, not in driving. After some googling I found out that even when the engine is warmed up, the cvt fluid level isn’t reaching the minimum level of hot fluid on the dipstick. Now the question is, can I use any cvtf j4 synthetic fluid from market to top it up slightly or I have to refill with genuine Mitsubishi cvt fluid? The next day at the morning, I started the car again to see if the notification pops up in dashboard again or not. It didn’t come again, but I still want to keep the fluid level at normal position. Thank you everyone for reading and trying to help in advance.

Genuine fluid is best, but expensive. This trans has a reputation for failing, but it is mainly due to using incorrect or inferior oil.
