Rear bumper cover and trunk latch.
I just bought a 2009 Lancer ES. For the most part I have been very happy with it--much more enjoyable ride than the old Buick beater it replaced. It has some paint issues and some small rust spots on the foof and deck lid, but otherwise is great. However, just my luck I was rear-ended recently. Not too bad. The only visible damage is the bumper cover knocked askew. I managed to pull it up far enough that the mud flaps aren't rubbing against the wheels but it's not secured in place. Are there any good instructions for replacing the rear bumper cover?
Second issue is that the trunk latch apparently got moved slightly. this wasn't something I could visibly see but when I close the lid I have to shove in the bottom of the deck lid to get it to latch. Is this a field-fixable problem or something that requires an actual bodyshop? Any suggestions?
One of the first things I usually get when I buy a car is the Haynes manual for it, but the manual for this model appears to be out of print and used copies are going for $60 and up on Amazon so I'll probably end up coming here a lot for info while I learn my way around the car's innards.
