New Bumper Cover
Hi everyone
I'm new here, but nice to meet you all.
About 4 months ago I purchased a 2000 Eclipse GT from a friend of mine. Runs pretty well, can''t complain - it's a blast to drive, I've put about 10k miles on it so far ((110k and she's still going strong))
Problem was - the bumper cover has a giant hole in it from a trailer hitch when a truck backed into it. To add insult to injury, someone thwacked me in a parking lot and ran off. Needless to say, my front bumper cover is a little messed up.
For now It's covered with a nosebra, which looks pretty decent, but I do want to get it fixed. I was curious, however, If it's possible to use an 03/04/05 bumper cover rather than the 00/01 bumper cover, because it looks just a million times better. I did notice that the foglights are in a slightly different place, and they are round as opposed to square like mine are.
IS it possible to do this? IF it is, how much work would it require? I'm not an expert mechanic and I'm not fantastic at body work (Save for cleaning up paint chips and clearcoat scratches and the like - i'm pretty handy with that stuff) and I'm curious if this is something that people do alot.
thanks for the tips
