Second Clutch in a week?
hi,
i have an 04 Mitsubishi lancer oz rally edition, when i purchased my car my throwout bearing was bad but i continued to drive my car. after a few months it got to the point where my clutch went. i knew this would happen if i did not replace the bearing. i purchased a FX100 stage one clutch for my car and replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. after this was fixed my car was making a very strange winding sound starting off, i thought it might have just been the newness wearing off my clutch but i was wrong. within 4 days of driving my car i actually had to slam it into gear with all my strength, this is when i knew there was something major was wrong with it. then while driving i went to change from second to third gear and lost everything. my gears were totally gone. the shifter just glided in and out of the gears with ease and wouldn't catch in any gear. i was told it was a bearing in my gear box or my gear selectors. so today i started taking everything apart again so i could see if it was the bearing or selectors, and my new clutch is worse then my old one was when it was gone! i really don't know what the problem is or why my clutch is destroyed again, but id love to know. so if you could assist me in the best way possible it would be greatly appreciated!
