I can't figure out whether it would be cheaper to buy a 02 lancer and do all the work to it or buy a evo with the work already done to it? Anyone help me?

depends on how much power you want really. You could get a regular lancer to the power of an evo with enough mods, there's one that I know of that's passed the 300whp mark. If you got the money you can get an evo to over 600awhp. With the regular lancer, if you go with a turbo and do some internal work on the the engine and boost at around 12-13 psi, you'll get some really good gains and the power will be noticable since the car is so light anyways. The evo is alreay fast so you don't need to do much to it to get some good gains out of it. But basically you could take a lancer, put the difference in price of the evo into mods on it(roughly 15-16k), and put out more power than the evo.
