If I'm not mistaken, the 2.0 motor in your lancer is the Evo motor, minus the turbo and intercooler. I could be wrong on that, but the Evo does have a 2.0 I-4. Why swap motors on a newer car? Just hook it up.

The 2.0 in the U.S. Spec Lancer is actually from the 4g9x series. It's either the 4g94 or 4g93, I'm unsure(and my daddy used to own one too! you'd figure i'd know). The parts aren't interchangeable with the evo engine(the 4g63) but you *can* swap in a 6a1* series engine. Technically, it's been done in japan, but nowhere else. The 6a12 and 6a13 are japanese only engines, but they are marvels of engineering. The 6a12 is a 2.5l six cylinder with MIVEC and makes about 200-220hp. It is found in the FTO. The 6a13 is the same engine just with a pair of turbochargers. It's a twin-turbo 2.5l six cylinder and makes a regulated 276hp. It is found in the Galant VR4TT's, also only made in japan. These are some potential swaps, and they are very costly, perhaps more than you're willing to spend. But they're two that i've heard of.

Sorry that my first post is a disagreement!

The 6A12 is a 2.0 V6, but the Mivec and 200bhp are correct.
The 6A13 is a 2.5 V5, with about 160 bhp, but more torque and usability than the mivec.
The 6A13TT is the twin turbo with 276 bhp.

All have been available in the 8th generation galant, but the 6A12 has been available in the FTO as well.

A large number of engines in I4 2.0 mitsubishis are the 4G63. The number of variations on this angine are massive, though!
