Why am I getting BAD MPG, 08 Lancer
Secret of driving your lancer 2008 is drive it rough like a Rally Car
For example if you wantto accelerate faster and step on the gas the 2008 Lancer doesn't want it like a Female touch soft and slow. The Lancer wants it hard and fast
I learned this lesson on the highway. when I want to overtake the car in front me I used to step on the gas so girly but when I used aggressive step it change the way it accelerated and I also noticed it doesn't make any difference on the gas mileage.
try it Drive it rough but carefully not hitting the clutch very hard or changing gears so fast.

Nope that's how I think How to drive MY LANCER. be more aggressive but in a safer way. Not to drive it like a Maniac but it really makes a difference like going more fasternot just stepping on a gas pedal with aFinesse attitude.
Remember the commercial Aggressive look and feel.

Miles per gallon. So thats your velocity devided by your consumption. There is a curve as to what RPM is best at what speed, until of course where wind resistance kicks in. Obviously its going to be as fast as you can go, where wind resistance and the added RPMs start killing the mpg. I think the optimum speed is just a little below highway speeds.
So i still dissagree with what your saying.

actually by true physics the best speed for MPG is around 55mph actually i think it was just a bit more than that, hence why all highway speeds used to have a limit of 55 for that reason.
Yes Sebba is right. CVT or Automatics Kills the mileage. Remember the GTS is heavier than ES or DE because of the Brembo brakes and 18 wheels per Lancer Review from magazines and web sites.
I don't drive automatics and I don't drive the GTS 2008 Lancer

1)mpg from factory still based on 55 mph
2)mpg was based on de/es models
3)gts is heavier due to extra body styling
4)it takes more to turn an 18" wheel compared to 16"
maybe its cause i only got an es but i do have it with s&s and custom sounds that added an additional 100+ lbs. but i still gettin 25 mpg city / 28 hwy. but hey i am only in hawaii and my hwy drive speed is only 70 on cruise but it gets way more mpg compared to my buddies 07 civic
