Default 96 Mirage won't start

I can hear the spark plugs firing but it never catches. I already replaced the spark plugs, and it didn't help. What else could it be? Since it fires, can I assume that the problem is not with the starter?

It could be your fuel pump or your starter. Tap on the starter while trying to start it and see if it starts, if so its the starter, if not it could be the fuel pump...

It can't be the starter since I can hear the engine turning, right?

Right. so I would check the fuel pump. I have a 87 Jetta and that was the problem with that.. Check starter/fuel pumpo fuses and relays also...
