Default '97 Mirage "mind of it's Own"

My GF and I have a '97 Mirage DE manual tranny. The cars been through ALOT and was being a champ up till about 6 months ago.

On some days from about 0-25 it struggles. On other days it CAN'T get over 5mph. On others 0-60 is NO PROB.

Took it to a shop when it first started.(I had ALREADY ran diff. fuel adds through it.and a new fuel filter spark plugs.)

3 weeks with #s of mechanics EVEN a Mits "specialist" with code scanner said we give up. Throttel positioning sensor,Cam sensor on and on "ruled out"

Towed it to another shop they gave up after a week.

It's been about 4 months or so.

Since then as of last week I went to the parts store to get sea foam on the way there(about 10-12 blocks from my house) ran like a POS.

After leaving within a block I had to back it down as I had it up to 60 in a 40!

At home the next day ran the 1/3 X 3 of seafoam through it. Followed the directions full tank of gas etc.

Since then it's done the above stated same probs.

The only thing I personally haven't done is clean the MAF. It's one thing I kind find. Where I thought it should be ( in the air tube from filter to manifold) has a BIG "plug" which seems to serve no purpose.

Even unplugged the battery for 30 mins in hopes of resetting the puter or something.

Sorry for such a LONG post especially being my first but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.

Any help or suggestions(OTHER than new car LOL NO $$$$) would be GREATLY appreciated.

My friend had a car a while back that had a "special" factory "secret" of opening the door and push the door button like 7 times and it clears the puter BIZARRE!

So fire away! Thanks in advance!

first, you can stop using things like seafoam. they do not ever fix anything.

second, tell us more about whats happening when it acts up. Is it misfiring? stalling? etc etc
