I just acquired a ‘98 Montero with 140k miles. It appears to be fully loaded. I’m having trouble finding answers to my questions and I was hoping this group could help.

What years have interchangeable parts with the ‘98 model?

How do I determine if the security system is factory or aftermarket? The dealer suggested it’s aftermarket because there’s a light/switch on the dash under the cruise control switch. I first noticed it when I first got it and had to replace the battery. The light was flashing and the truck wouldn’t start. I had to push the button for it to start. The light has never come on again although I have had the battery disconnected.

The power antenna is broken. Will a universal power antenna work as a replacement?

Where can I get the 3rd row seats? They had been removed before I got the truck?

I just bought the hitch receiver to bolt onto the back. Any advice on how best to add a trailer light connector?

The light behind the D on the shift indicator on the dash doesn’t work although all the others do. How should I start troubleshoot this?

The gas gauge doesn’t work but the low fuel light does. How should I troubleshoot that?
