What type of spark plugs for 2002 montero 3.5 limited?
Hey all,
I think I am going to do a valve cover gasket replacement this weekend, and will do the spark plugs and wires too.
Can someone let me know what type I need for the 3.5 Limited please?
do i need to go with the Iridium plugs? If so...what kind?
Do you have a part number as well?
Thanks so much for the help!

Definitely get Iridium plugs. They have a lifespan of over 80k miles. You do not want 5k spark plugs on these vehicles - too much trouble to get them replaced.
I'm running NGK 7994 They have pre-set gap (do not adjust). Works great. You can get them in most auto parts stores at online.

Just let me know when you can.
I also ended up getting the Nippon Reinz Intake Plenum Gasket as well. Figured why not when you have it torn apart.
Thanks so much!! You are AWESOME!!

As long as your spark plugs cross reference to the vehicle and they are pre-gapped Iridium type, you'll be good.
Good thinking on the intake plenum gaskets. The book recommends to replace them every time you disassemble the plenum. It is definitely the case if you had things over tightened at any point or if you have busted gasket and vacuum leaks.

Good thing I thought of the plenum gasket!
I'll let you know how things go.
Take care!
