03 Montero to buy or not to buy - would like opinions
Hi guys,
First off I'm new to the forum, so not sure if this is the right place to post. Mods please move if I'm doin it wron.
Ok so here's the situation. I'm looking at getting an 03-06 Montero.
Saw an 03 with about 55K miles, but it had $15 K worth of damage about 5 years ago. Salesman also let it also accidently slip that they had to replace the tires because of "uneven wear" on 3 of them - said wheels "just" needed rebalancing. Sounds odd to me.
Now I'm no expert on Monteros but when I had a look around the vehicle it was apparent that the front end had been in an accident.
However, engine ran like clockwork, transmission shifted fine and Hi Lo engaged, so basically seemed mechanically sound.
My only fear is of frame damage based on the evidence, since these are unibody.
What do you guys think? Is it worth looking further into, or would you just walk away given what I have just found?
Thanks

Thanks Manybrews.
Clearly my head was being led by my heart, because I wasn't thinking straight. (Is it wrong to fall in "love" with a Montero? There's just something about them).
I'll hold out for the right one.
Good to have a voice of reason around.
