First time poster. Just wanted to post a little trick I did to my rear door handle on my wifes '03 Monty Limited. The mechanism kept freezing up and the stock return spring is kinda wimpy. Id have to dissasemble the rear door and clean/lube it about once a year. This time I used a punch and put two marks, one on the mechanism and one on the body of the door inside and drilled 2 small holes. Then I went to ACE hardware and bought a couple springs of varying lengths and found one that works perfectly! I attached the spring to the inside of the door frame and the other end to the mechanism and cleaned and lubed it and now it works perfectly with a much firmer squeeze and return. I hope this fixes the problem for good! Now Ive got to fix the rotted rear heat/ac lines and she'll be good for another 100,000 miles! I hope this little trick helps somebody else out there that may be having the same problem as I did.
