Default '03 Montero LTD drivers seat

Got a strange prob that just started... drivers seat will not go backwards. Every other control on it works including sliding forward, but nothing back. In trying to problem solve it, the seat is now jammed forward too far making it unsafe to drive. I searched for the fuse (there's none listed in the manual for the power seats), because I was hoping a "soft reboot" would fix it, but I can't find the fuse. Any ideas? Could the switch go bad just for the backwards motion? If so, how hard are these to switch out? Thanks. Steve

you'll have to pull the driver seat out and go from there to disect the problem. motor may be jammed, and/or the switch.

Default Took seat out, now what

Hi,
having same issue power seat will not go back. I have taken the seat out of the car and have taken the seat cushion out to try to take the switch out but cannot get the switch cover off.

1. How do I get the switch cover off?

2. Can I manually move the seat back?

thanks for any help

I need to go out and check my Gen III to see if it's the same setup, but the #3 post in this thread is my response to the same problem in my Gen II. Maybe it will help?
