Talking 1991 Montero Overdrive probs

Overall performance is fine other than it doesn't want to shift into overdrive. Which is okay for granny cruising around town but not very polite for highway usage. Any ideas or suggestions?

probably the coolant grounding switch.

the car is not going to shift into overdrive until the engine is at operating temp. Assuming it is (is it?), the terminal that gounds the relay is probably corroded or failing.
