Mitsubishi Montero & Montero Sport This sport utility vehicle offers more size than the other Mitsubishi SUVs, but manages to keep a sporty look and comfortable feel, unlike many larger SUVs.

Default 1999 Montero sport xls , obsolete , 1/99 -6/99 replacement parts .

Hi all i love the vehicle but the run around for parts is almost never worth the effort . the parts available for the us 6/99 - 12 / 99 are different for what reason ? then if you aren't a shadetree mechanic or a engineer fabricator with a shop you are out of luck extremely frustrated without the vehicle for twice as long , or the part costs more than the vehicle is worth from the effort and labor point of view , again I'm simply trying to maintain my vehicle for reliability and longevity no 4 wh. joy rides why is it so difficult to get the correct part at the reasonable price without any frustration mail order is no alternative the return time the shipping fee and the wait is just another inconvenience to take care of your vehicle .
complacent obsolescence is quite evidentiary here . i should be able to achieve this with out any grief or cost and no thats not the journey or part of the fun i pay and maintain for utility and transportation i expect to be able to do this safely and correctly the obsolescence of parts is man made and really has no good real excuse for why , the greed is what ruins everything that works , that you save and take care of
i guess this is the real reason most sellers are unloading their bad decisions on a unknowing buyer out of his necessity and ignorance .
im just really surprised that i have a great vehicle i just about have to pay to make the part work , i just dont appreciate the extra effort its not worth it .

I hear your frustration and share it as well. Unfortunately, it seems like lately this situation is not limited to one or two vehicles or insure manufacturers/models. I've ran into similar issues with Volkswaggen, Chevy and other manufacturers. I've had cases where the dealer will not provide correct part I needed even with the right VIN numbet.
The online world is really bad lately. I think its coming from the perceived "need" to be able to sell any part you want. The websites capture database info and try to re-direct users to their sites whether they have what you need or not. It's just about your eyeballs, not sales. Unfortunate side effect ofall of this is inaccurate vehicle naming, wrong parts listing and frustration. Ask yourself this question - do THEY care if you're going through agony of getting a wrong part and having your vehicle down? No, they don't. They probably care more (and make more money off) about you visiting their site, getting clicks and advertisement sales from all that activity.
