Hello I'm New to this Forum.

Got problem to open the Center Console of my 2001 Montero XLS. I need to get the Serial Number of my radio for the Code.

I have read all the postings and there is no detail as to open the Console of 2001 Montero XLS.

Hope someone can help me.

If I recall, there are two screws at the top of the center trim plate - above where the electronic compass (if so equipped) is located. Remove those, and the trim plate pops off, allowing you access to the bolts securing the radio. You **may** be able to read the S/N without removing the radio, depending on where the sticker is.
If you like, post your email and I'll send you a diagram of your console showing locations of screws and clips/claws.
