2001 Montero limited front brake pad replacement
#2
Good learning opportunity
If you have any experience working with brakes it will be pretty easy. If this is a first time, make sure to read instructions and and understand them before you get going, but do not be discouraged. I have the same vehicle and I have replaced brake pads myself on all 4 wheels. I got diagrams and specs for torque and installation procedures from www.alldatadiy.com This is a subscription service, but woks for me. I am not sure if there are books available for this model. I would recommend going with the Mitsubishi pads. They may be a little more expensive then the no-name brand, but they do not create tons of the brake dust - the kind you see (rusty brown wheels) on some vehicles. Good luck.

Thanks Hunterd,
You're right. Really simple...two bolts on and off. Now the bad news....front right showed little wear on outside pad, inside was shot. Need a new rotor and, I assume, a caliper. Any hints on parts sourcing? I assume I should do both rotors, but both calipers, as well?
Thanks
