Default 2001 montero sport wants to stall

Hi I had a code p0305 a miss in cyl 5 and p0403 I changed the vac solenoid switch -check engine light was still on. Had a Mech change the plugs, wires, water pump and timing belt he cleared the codes and I just picked it up 2 days ago the miss is gone the check engine light is still out but now its running very rough at idle and wants to stall rpm at idle is between 500-750 rpm while in drive or neutral is still wants to stall. thanks for any feedback

As the mechanic had to remove the plenum in order to replace your plugs and wires, I would think that the problem may lie in your idle speed control servo or throttle position sensor on your throttle body once it was removed from its ECU connections. You may need to reset its memory as to what "normal" is for these settings. Are these conditions producing any new codes from your ECU? Have you just let it idle for a awhile and then driven normally? It's possible that your EGR valve is struck open or maybe a hose wasn't reconnected properly. Go over all those connections as well.

Also, a p0305 code could also be caused by a faulty fuel injector. Are you certain that all of yours are firing as they should?

OK, great. I'm curious, though. Did the mechanic deliver it to you like this — running rough at idle or did this take some time to develop on its own?

Default stalling

It took 2 days for the rough idle and the check engine light to come on after the work was done
