Hi All I'm from blighty and I have the Japanese import pajero with the same problem , but I don't have the key entry on the bottom glove as pointed out so how would I go about opening both of mine as they are both locked , the UK sight is helpful but I haven't found anything on there to show how to help ..

I forgot to point out when I first mentioned this, that yea there are 2 keys. One key won't open the glove box lock. So if you don't happen to have all the keys as if you purchased the car new, just hope the key you have is the one that also opens the glove box.

If not, the trick will still work, but you will have to do as one person did and pick the lock or have someone pick it.

Default 2 glove boxes?

I never knew about the montero sport having 2 boxes. Must have been an option.

Just had the same problem with my upper glove box on my recently acquired '03. Had me a little worried I would tear up the dash to get it open. Thanks for this thread!!

I didn't see this post before, the full size Montero is the one with 2 gloveboxes.
