Default 2002 Montero sport ES V6 idle control valve

I keep having to change out the idle air control motor about every couple of months. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do or what causes this?

I'm having the same problem with my 2001 Montero Sport. Replaced the IAC in 2014 with a cheap aftermarket part ($80). Started having idle problem again in 2019 with the P0506 code. Replaced the IAC with a $20 IAC and it still isn't working right.

Do I just need to bite the bullet and spend several hundred dollars for a factory replacement IAC? If I could get another cheap one to last four years I would be happy with that.

Have you done proper Idle re-learn procedure after replacing IAC? Agree with previous post - go with Mitsubishi part, not aftermarket!!!
