Default 265,000 miles, just lost a cylinder

Hi
I am new to this forum and I hope I can get some advice from the group.
I have a 91 5sp Montero the I bought new. I have towed race cars up and down the west coast, my kids learned how to drive in it. Christmas eve driving down Hwy 5 I lost a piston (#6) broken ring. I just did the timing belt, water pump, brakes, tires etc.
It has run like a clock until now and I really don't what to give it up.
Rebuild the motor, Put a diesel in it? Where do I draw the line?
It's an old friend and what is there to replace it?
