Default 6G72 - 12 valve to 24 valve upgrade

I've found a decent, low mileage 24 valve 6G72 and I'm wondering if its pretty much "plug and play" when upgrading from a 12 valve. Do I need to replace the ECU, or could I still utilise my own? Thanks.

You would need quite a bit of items. PS pump, alternator, etc. Wiring harness for the engine as well as an ECU. It's quite an extensive swap. What year montero do you have?

No you could not do it alone. It is all bolt on stuff, but it can get tedious and if you aren't 100% sure what you're doing, it will get ugly.

If you want it that bad, I recommend just buying one.

It's a 2000 Pajero. The 24 valve didn't make an appearance in this market until MY2001. If it's really that difficult, then it's not really worth the hassle I suppose. Would be more worthwhile to dump a 6G75 if I'm going to be spending that amount of time/money. Then again, its a daily driver so the 12 valve is pretty decent for what it is. Thank you for the replies.
