new member ,great forum,what is the a/t mode switch on my console near the hand brake for?

 

I haven't tested mine yet, but have read that it causes the vehicle to start from second rather than first gear, supposedly good for slippery situations where too much torque would be a bad thing

 

is it a rocker? On my '95 one way was "Hold" which was the 2nd gear start, and the other was "Pwr" which seemed to keep it out of overdrive more often which can help when towing. However, when I towed I usually just used the o/d button on the shifter to keep it out of overdrive a lot of the time.
