Default ABS light comes on when in 4wd

I am driving along in 4wd apply the breaks and the light comes on and I have no assist for breaking in the snow.... WTF !!!!
I turn it off and everything is fine now !!!!
Go figure !!!!

Srry..lol I just read what I wrote.
I am driving along in 4H, Then I applied the breaks to stop and hear the ABS come on, Then the ABS light stays on and I have no more assist from the ABS. I am thinking a fuse or breaker... What are your thoughts on this one....

I had same thing happen once. After a re-start it went away. Was not able to figure out what caused it and it never reoccurred.

driveline wind up. you're lucky you didn't **** your t/fer case - it has happened.

i'm not even entirely sure what abs is.. anti lock brakes? anti brake skidding? assisted bullsh*t steering?

4H is AWD mode - no problem for the pavement. 4HLC is the true 4wd with locked center diff.

by the sounds of it, wind up has caused your computer to "danger, danger will robinson, does not compute"

-but i don't know **** about computers.

Seriously, unless it starts happening on regular basis i wouldn't worry about it. How many times you had to restart the computer you are on right now? Still works right?

It only did it 1 time but it's all back to normal now .. tks.
