Default battery tie down

I have a 2000 mitsubishi montero sport. My battery will not stay in place. Do anyone knows how to tie down or bolt down battery? Also when I stop at stop sign or red light and get ready to pull off it stalls then jerks off. Anyone has any idea whats the problem?

The problem as you describe it could be either engine or transmission issues. I'd like a few more adjectives thrown my way to help diagnose what you're experiencing .

As far as the wandering battery syndrome, my beast has a metal tie-down bar that is attached through long bolts to the battery pan, as most batteries are. This holds the battery firmly in place so that even Chuck Norris would have a hard time roundhouse kicking it loose. He could probably do it, but he'd have to work at it.

If this arrangement is missing from your ride, then a quick trip to your local Pick n' Pull or Advance Auto would seem to be in order where they sell replacements along with generic gas caps and window cranks.

Default truck stalls

It drives smooth. But soon as a make a complete stop at a stop sign or red light. And try to pull off it act like it dont want to pull off. i has to mash gas pedal hard and then it jerks hard then pull off.

OK, this sounds to me like maybe your transmission linkage is not correct, you're low on fluid or there is some more serious internal problem going on.

Check the easiest things first: How's the fluid look? Level correct? Are your linkages tight and in their proper positions — pointing to neutral on your stick as well as on the control arm actually attached to your transmission? Notice any leaks or other general funkiness down there? Any associated noise you notice? If so, try to pin that down.

Other thoughts: Could your rear brakes be binding? After you drive, any smell you notice from the rear brakes or excessive heat?

How are the bearings in your driveshafts? If there was excessive looseness I would think you'd feel it all the time, but who knows? Have you greased the bearings at the recommended times? It couldn't hurt anything to do so. Can you get any movement of the shafts by hand when crawling under the vehicle? There shouldn't be any. If there is, you need new bearings.

I'd check the fluid level and condition first. Anything more complicated with your trans is probably best left to a specialist, unless you know a lot more about transmissions than I do, which isn't hardly anything at all.

Let us know what you find...
