believe it or not I just put 35x12.5 r15 on the stock rims, had to remove some of the plastic off front corner bumpers, and front rear section. I should lift a few more inches as I still get some tire rub on very sharp turns. What is the best way and the best lift kit for Gen 2 Monteros (LS) and has any one got a spare set of RS fender flares? How makes a good after market fender flare that would fit?

 

Can't answer your question regarding the fender flares. As far as lift kits for Gen2, I think the best one is OME (Old Man Emu) Gen 2 lift kit. The kit includes 4 shocks and 4 springs. It gives you a much better (more stable ride) and lifts the vehicle about 2 inches. Depending on the condition of the bushings on the rear shocks and the condition of the strut mounts on the front, you may be able to re-use those, or you can get new parts to replace them. It is very easy to install it. Perfect fit for the vehicle - no extra modifications or cutting needed.
