Hello Everybody,

This is my first post here. I don't want to start my time here by asking about doing something illegal, I just want to know if something is legal and doable. Years ago I had a Dodge Raider (Mitsubishi Monterro). It was probably the very best car that I have ever owned. It bothers me that I can no longer get one here in the U.S.. I was wondering…is it legal to go somewhere like Mexico and buy a car and simply drive it back to the U.S.? I also like the idea of being able to get a diesel engine that isn't available here in the U.S. market. I am not sure if anyone here knows about this or not, but I thought that I would ask. Thank you, in advance for your replies.

 

I believe so, because the chassis is already in existence with the DMV and the crash testing has already been done.

There are legal and illegal ways to do it but this forumis actually not the best place to search. It's great that you're into Mitsu products but it's a generalquestionbest asked on google. There are other results that link to people who are more "creative" as well. Good luck - and don't buy a car from a drug lord!

OH. If allelse fails maybe you can find a shop in Mexico that will convert a US truck to deisel while you're there on vacation.

you can find one in the US i just recently bought a 1984 montero with 80,000 miles. I got it in chandler AZ. good luck on your search.
