brake question

Default brake question

i have a 02 montero sport and my brakes are wearing down and it time to replace them im having problems with my brakes actually locking up for a instant then unlocking could this be because of the pads being wore down or could i possibly need to replace the caliperrs also?

it shouldn't be the calibers. just try to replace the brakes first. and if it's still a cluster F**k replace the calibers.

PS: it's hell on your hands taking those bolts off on the calibers. did some mighty nice damage to my hands, bashing them on the car from the the bolts bieng so torqued down so damn much. but then again, that was on an 81' corvette

When your replacing the pads see if the sliders are frozen and see if the calipers push pack w/ little effert. If the calipers are frozen replace them.
