Default Broken leaf spring on '97 montero sport

Hi,

Anyone have this trouble? The rear top leaf spring broke on my 97 montero sport. Can I just replace the one broken spring? Anyone know where to get one? I looked online at some places, but have been unsucessful.

thanks

Yes you can replace just one assuming the other isn't fatigued and still has the original spring rate.

Can get used ones from msrecycling.com or car-part.com. Alternatively check with your local or online dealer.

IT is NOT a generic spring and IIRC is made just for Mitsu so don't think a Toy spring will fit.

i would NOT recommend replacing just one.
spring breakage is common, and one will DEFINATLY be sagged out after 10 years.

get them at the dealer, along with new shackles.
