took my 2000 ms to the mechanic . told him that i had an oil leak that was killing alternators. told him i suspected front cam seals but for him to make sure that was it and let me know. he called a few hours later and said it wasn't the seals it was a valve cover gasket. gave the go ahead. 450 bucks later still have the same quart a week oil leak.
he's saying he could see the oil dripping off the front off the valve cover. i say the cAM SEAL AND THE VALVE COVER GASKET ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL AND THE OIL IS BLOWING OVER THE VC GASKET. sorry about the caps too lazy to re-type.
since he mis-diagnosed the problem, am i right to think that he should fix the actual problem for parts only charges.

Sorry to hear about your issue, it doesn't sound like the guy turning the wrench had much experience with MM.

If you hired him to do the seals and he didn't do them, then you have a case.
If you hired him to diagnose the problem, then you have no case.

If the guy is solid, he may admit the misdiagnosis and give you a deal on the seals.
