Can it be done
Hello everyone
New to the forum, but I have come here to read and get advise for awhile and decided to join tonight.
I have a 01 full size Montero XLS 73000 miles. I was wondering if any one has or know if you can change and or ad parts from a 05 or later Montero.
The main things I would like to do is Change the Tail lites and Wheels from a later model, also does anyone know if the compass/temp pod veiw sceen thats mounted on the dash can be added to an XLS, without rewiring the entire vehicle. Any advice would help.
Thanks BRD
And I know someones going to say, "just buy a Limited" but this ones paid for.

The wheels and lights should be ok.
I like the lights on the 02 the best though. It's color matched with the color of the vehicle. Also the wheels on the 01-02 look more sporty, but I guess its a matter of opinion.
As for the compass/temp, that I dunno. REmove the panel and see if there is a harness back there. If there is, it might be a plug and play.
The thing is that is also used to show AC control settings, so there might be more complications.
