Which Can OB11 code reader for this issue
can anyone tell me the difference of these two testers other than price?
I only need it for the current service light problem,so if it is true that the amazon tester for $26 will tell me the problem and the fix, that would be fine.
My question now is this: Does the $56 tester/analyzer offer me more tests than the $20 one?
if it does, then Id rather go for the $56 one. make sense? (more about these 2 can obd11 code readers listed below)
I looked at the list supplied on each product to try and compare analysis features, and they seemed the same, but then again I know nothing about electronics etc,so i dont trust my analysis.
Can someone help me out with which one should fit my needs on my 2001 Montero sport 3.0
below is the list each product claims to analyze.
Heres my comparison from their data list :
The one at Harbor Freight :CEN-Tech can obd11 code reader $56
1-determines the cause of the "ck eng light"
2- retrieves generic PO,P2,P3 and uo
manufacturers specific P1,P3, and u1 codes and pending codes
3 Turns off ck eng light (mil) clears codes and resets monitors
4 displays dtc definitions on unit screen
5,views freeze frame data
6.displays monitor and I/M readiness status(emisions)
7 retrieves vin, cin ,cvn
8 supports can and all other current obd 11 protocols
------------------------
Amazons: can obd11 code reader $20
Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool for OBDII Vehicles
1-Retrieves generic and manufacturer specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), includes definitions lookup software on CD and displays DTC definitions on screen
2-Features an easy-to-read backlit LCD screen, multilingual menu and DTC definitions and standard 16-pin OBD-II connector--no additional cables are needed
3-Retrieves VIN (Vehicle Identification No) on 2002 and newer vehicles that support Mode 9
4-Supports the CAN (Controller Area Network) protols and all other current OBD-II protocols
thx
