Shift Solenoid Malfunction BCD TrannyProblems
Hello everyone,
I am newbie in search of some help! I drive a 2000 Montero Sport and just the other day after cruising down the highway(65mph) I noticed that the Monty was "Over-driving" a little. What I mean is that when I was cruising the car would be at 2700 RPM's (just an example) and when I went to accerate more then depressed the gas pedal I could tell that the RPM's increased to 3000 and then while maintaining the same speed(65mph) the RPM's stayed at 3000 for a few seconds.. Almost had me a little bit nervous.. Then they would return to normal (2700) at (65mph)
Not more then 5 minutes later the Monty flared up(RPM's) shifted kinda of hard and seemed fine until I was coming to a stop. At that point the (N) sign started flashing and the "Check Engine" light came on. I figured it was fail safe mode.. No biggy I wasn't far from home. I came to a stop at the red light and when I went to go forward the Monty was stationary.. I tried every gear and the Monty would not move... Transmission blown??????
Later on, I got the codes read and the codes came out to be a malfunction of shift solenoid B, C, and D.
Is it normal for all 3 to go out at once?? What is the difficulty in replacing them? This is my daily driver! Please, transmissions are the last thing I would want to deal with so any wisdom would be helpful!
Thanks for the read!
