See that you have a blown engine...you mind me asking what happened? I was going to ask what you did about the valve stem seals, but didn't know if that is why your selling...?

Hi, I'm a new member and am also looking into a regular Montero. I have noticed some Craigslist ads where "bad engine" is mentioned by some sellers. Is the valve stem seals mainly ther reaon for this? What is causing the seals to go bad? Most that I see seem to be under 150k and this seems to be a bit early for this problem.
Does the engine tend to run hot? Does using ethanol contribute to this?
