Mitsubishi Montero & Montero Sport look like Tarzan but they tow like Jane. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IF YOUR lOOKING TO tow SOME BOATS, TRAILERS, OFF ROAD EQUIPTMENT AROUND WITH THESE LITTLE trucks that couldn't (don't believe the phony specs listed in the manuals). Good Luck! Oh and If you do decide to buy one don't bring it to Bell Mitsubishi in Raway,NJ because if its not totally f*&6k up they'll totally mess up any complicated powertrain/transmission job.

The problem is that your a follower, you protect Mitsubishi and their inferior product. Dont't buy Mitsubishi, especially from BELL MITISUBISHI if you looking for any towing capacity. That is what happens when you don't do your homework. If you want to tow a boat, you need torque and power. A Montero will not give you that, that has been said by every reviewer/magazine right from the start. If you buy a Jeep that will not work either, neither a Land Rover. Do your homework and get a proper truck for towing duty.

Now, if you want a comfortable 4x4 with lots of space that will go head to head off-roading with the Jeep and LR, then a Mits Montero is for you.
