i have a 1997 Montero Sport LS 4x4.. I have a hole (actually more like a crack) in the exhaust. The hole is located just after the y pipe where the 2 pipes of the headers join into one and join into the catalytic converter. It is hard to clamp because the pipe is an odd size. I have a 2 1/4" bandclamp on now, and it works well but leaks where the clamp bolts together. if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated

 

Not sure which engine you have but is the crack small enough that it can be reparied by welding it? Any exhaust shop can do this.

IF not, then the alternative is to get a part the mitsu part (salvage yard, parts house that sells OE mitsu parts, or your local dealership) & R&R it.
