Ground wire problems on headlights
I have a ground wire problem on my 1996 Mitsubishi Montero. Headlights wont work blow ever fuse you put in. Where do i find the ground wire for that? Can anyone help
I put a new starter, alternate, and battery. About a week ago my brake light came on alternate light and battery light on my dash. Then headlights went out. Got a fuse to day fir lights. Didnt even have it in all the way and it blowed. Guy said ground wire problem and that my suv has 3 ground wires.. So someone please help me

This does not sound like a problem with the ground wire on the headlights. The reason I say this, is that power goes from battery to the headlight bulb, goes through the bulb and returns to the battery via ground. If all works well, the bulb provides resistance in the circuit and generates light in the process. Instead, what is happening in your case, is the power goes to the headlight bulb, but before it gets there, it jumps to ground without the load, creating a short circuit. This blows the fuse that is there to protect the system. You have to check positive wiring to the headlights and see where the short is occuring.
