I am replacing the water pump in my 1999 Mitsubishi montero sport 3.5 and I'm having trouble with the balancer. The puller I got from the local parts place will not work, the bolts are too small. I need to know what size bolt I need so I can wield something up to pull it with.. your help is appreciated.

 

Once you remove the harmonic balancer bolt, it should just come off. If it does not, try whacking it a few times with soft mallet from different angles. A puller should not be needed for this job. Some form of bolt loosening agent could be used to aid in this process.
